| Coach Shelly Maynard I began training for bodybuilding in 1989. In 1990 I competed in the Northern Arizona, and six weeks later in the Southwestern States Competition, in each I place first in my weight class and in the overall. Both shows were sanctioned by the NPC (National Physique Committee) In 1991, I competed in the Arizona Challenge, a national qualifier, and finished first in my weight class. Later that year I competed in the NPC’s Nationals held in Santa Ana, California. In 1996 I was certified through AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America), and began working at Gator’s Athletic club as a trainer. As my family grew, I began working from my home training and writing workouts. This year marks our family’s 9th season with St. Jude Hockey. My husband, Buck and I are blessed with four sons who play ice hockey. |
